WHAT WILL BE COVERED?
The Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Forestry Clearing Saw covers not just the underpinning knowledge regarding risk assessment, emergency planning, and H&S legislation, but maintenance, pre- / post-operational checks and set up of the clearing saw for the operator. You will be using different types of cut to cut down woody stems and advised on the suitability of the different methods of cutting.
ARE THERE ANY PRE-REQUISITES?
You must be at least 16 years of age to undertake the training and assessment; there are no other pre-requisites.
WHAT CAN I PROGRESS TO?
If you undertaking this training and assessment, you may be interested in gaining qualifications in:
- Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Stump Grinders.
- Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Brushcutters and Trimmers.
- Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting.
- Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of a Manually Fed Woodchipper.
