WHAT WILL BE COVERED?
This course is aimed at users of sit-in ATV’s and focuses on their use in off-road situations. The course will cover risk assessments, legal and safety requirements, and how to assess the terrain in relation to operating unladen and laden ATVs. You will be taken through the control functions of the ATV, pre-use checks and inspection of the machine as well as operating the ATV on an off-road course.
ARE THERE ANY PRE-REQUISITES?
You must be at least 16 years of age to undertake the training and assessment; there are no other pre-requisites.
WHAT CAN I PROGRESS TO?
There are various options open to you; if you use an ATV to carry out spraying then you might want to consider.
- Pesticide Application: Foundation Module (PA1)
- Pesticide Application: Boom Sprayers (PA2)
However, if you are often travelling off-road in various vehicles, then consider taking the course in:
- 4×4 off-road driving.
